Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Here is your monthly update from PCSO Zack Earl.

Priorities
There has been an increase in workmen in the area going door to door offering goods and services. While many of these are legitimate, they could be rogue traders who are trying to scam you. If you do get one of these visitors and you do not want what they are offering, please just decline politely and close your door. If you believe that you are a victim of a rogue trader, or are concerned that a neighbour or family member may be, please report it to Trading Standards by calling 03454 04 05 06. If you feel threatened in anyway, call 999! Please give us as many details as possible including description of vehicles and people and any leaflets/brochures they have.

Spring into action and secure your home!
Help us to keep crime down this spring by making it harder for criminals by following our crime reduction advice:
• Cut back your shrubs and hedges to aid visibility.
• Secure access to your back garden. Are your gates and fences maintained?
• Consider a time switch for your radio and lights.
• Service/maintain your burglar alarm.
• Keep gardening tools and ladders locked away.
• Ensure sheds and garages are fully secured.
• Consider joining Neighbourhood Watch – Please contact us using the email at the bottom of the page if this is something you would be interested in.
• Please report any suspicious people or vehicles by called 101 (999 if a crime is in progress).
