Appeal for witnesses following attempted burglary in Binfield

Alert message sent 15/05/2018 14:08:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Appeal for witnesses following an attempted burglary in Mutton Oaks, Binfield.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an attempted  burglary in Binfield.

At some time during the week between Saturday 5th and Saturday 12th May 2018 offenders attacked the telephone junction box and cut the cables running to an external alarm bell box on the front wall of a house in Mutton Oaks, Binfield.

No other damage appears to have been caused and no apparent entry gained to the house however police consider there would only be one reason for someone to try and disable an alarm system.

Investigating officer PC3031 Adam Norris based at Loddon Valley police station said “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information to call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting reference 43180143196.

If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact the independent charity “Crimestoppers” anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are asked for, and your call is not traced or recorded, and you wouldn’t be expected to attend court.

If your home is equipped with an alarm system it would be worthwhile checking any accessible external cabling to ensure that yours has not been attacked.
