CCTV image released following a robbery in Oxford

Between 1am and 1.40am on Friday 26 October two victims were approached by a group of men on George Street.

 

The first victim, a 20-year-old man, had his wallet stolen by one of the men.

 

The second victim, a 20-year-old woman, confronted the group of men and was assaulted with multiple punches to the face. The offender then removed the cash and threw the wallet at the victim. Her mobile phone is also believed to have been stolen during this incident.

 

The victim did not require medical treatment.

 

Investigating officer PC Lauren Todd based at Cowley police station said: “I am releasing this CCTV image as I believe the man may have vital information that could help with our investigation.

“If you recognise this man, please let me know either using our online form, quoting reference number 43180326884, or by calling 101. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
